The Fox Bandwagon

I was flipping through my now bought off the shelf from Walgreens (thank you!) Nylon Mag. when I realized who was on the cover. I had read earlier in their weekly newsletter that Megan Fox was their newest IT girl and I got a little worried.
I thought, all it takes to become an IT girl is to be in a $700 million dollar movie? Wow, I'm on my way!
Of course, there is more to Miss Fox than meets the eye. Yes she is hot, yes she can act, yes yes yes, she is outgoogled and almost played out on the internet. But this chic has style. She likes the T's. She likes the jeans, she likes the horn rimmed glasses. To top it off, she is being interviewed for Nylon. They usually know how to keep it real, so I read on.
During the interview, she mentions that she grew up practically brainwashed by her town (along the Bible Belt). Being "a part" of something so judgemental and hypocritical can make you feel like you have no freedom whatsoever. No wonder she has no problem saying whatever the fuck is on her mind. You would too if you finally had the freedom to do it. Not to mention the fact that you have a chica-billion ears wide open and ready to listen!
As for being bisexual, well its true to a certain degree... but she believes that sexuality isn't so black and white. Being with a girl (in ZsuZsu's opinion) is just something you were trying on if you never did it before, or you had thought about it a little too much and classified yourself as gay or bisexual. That doesn't mean you would necessarily only like one sex or the other. Its all about the person. I can totally stand by her feelings on this as I feel like they're my own.
If you read between the lines, despite her appearance, Megan acts somewhat masculine. Burping in her T-shirt in the middle of a sentence and wiping her nose on her sleeve. To me, thats as real as you get. And its totally hot!
Figuring in all this, she dresses not unlike other starlets out there. But there is something else in her eyes that makes me think, Megan Fox is full of surprises. And I can't wait for whats next!

Our Darling Kate

Just had to let everyone know that I now walk around smelling of sweet Kateness. I finally went out and bought a bottle of her perfume.

I smell of perfection. Its lovely...

Also, some info on things to come for the new year and on upcoming blogs in the next few weeks:

  1. Some style dos and don'ts for the dudes ( I didn't forget!)
  2. Meghan Fox -my newest and only Idol (all the rest can classify as icons or regular IT girls, which is an awesome title in itself)
  3. Nylon news! Is there any other?
  4. And of course, BOP BA DA BAAAAAAH! Outfit posts! I have spent quite a lot of time collecting this year and I think as a one year post spectacular, I will unveil my closet!

So stay tuned...

HAPPY STUFF YOUR FACES DAY!

This year I am cooking for Mike and I... but that doesn't mean there aren't some girls out there on their own this year with a full guestlist, trying to conquer the 'ultimate culinary achievement'!
So here are some tips from November's MARIE CLAIRE.
Top Chef's Stefan Richter's Thanksgiving Tips -
  • Keep the Menu simple - "If you make 18 different items, you're going to serve a bunch of shit" he says. "Make five really well instead of 20 half-crappy ones.
  • Use fresh herbs
  • Don't cook the bird all day - "Instead of the typical 275 degrees for eight hours for a 12-16 lb turkey, which makes the bird 'dry as shoe leather,' says Richter, "cook at 500 degrees for 30 minutes to get some nice color, then bring it down to 350 for two and a half hours. You'll have the perfect turkey!"
  • Think Cheap! - "Find a wine for $3 a bottle like Trader Joe's Two Buck Chuck, I drink it," says Richter, - "its a runoff of a beautiful winery"

Celebrity Hosting Secrets-

  • "I have people come over while I'm still preparing, that way it feels more casual." - Zooey Deschanel, actress/singer
  • Make it a pilgrim costume party and try not to get too smashed! (lmao) - Betsey Johnson, fashion designer

Holiday Tip: Remodel for the Day - Genevieve Gorder transforms your teeny studio into an entertaining oasis!

  • Layering old beautiful bedding, like a worn velvet throw over a cheap linen tablecloth is a great look. Think rustic-chic instead of the matchy-matchiness of your mom's stuff.
  • Nice plates? ...scour thift stores...Ebay...Etsy has quirky homemade ceramics. And of course the classic white plate is about a buck at Ikea. But have fun with your table scape! Embrace imperfection. Let it be a little tongue-in-cheek.
  • Multitask your furniture in ways your wouldn't normally...For seating, use a couch for one side of the table. Then you can drag in old folding chairs, the hall bench, whatever! Having an eclectic group of seats means that guests can find the style of chair that suits their personality.
  • Lighting - its all about dim light. When people come in and there are candles and the lights are down, people immediately start acting more relaxed. And you want this to be an affair where everyone wants to lay around your house till midnight...If its too bright, people get irritated and it doesn't look as good. Period. When you go into a restaurant that is over-lit, you immediately think fast food, and thats not what we're going for after that many hours spent in the kitchen!

Color Me Fafi

Love Ridden

I adore these commercials. I tell my boyfriend to SHHHH! everytime they come on. They remind me of this whole urban movement... to dress better, and live better, and love better.

Its America! And the best part is that they made this commercial more than just about fashion. Its very moving and inspiration. I want to GO FORTH and be all I can be. Not in the army of course but as an individual of these great United States.

Let Us Pretend

The best thing about my generation is being in your twenties when fashion doesn't have a faux pas. Anything goes...unless you match. Then we might have a problem.

Play On Girl!

ZsuZsu is on top the world lately.
The best part about that is... I keep myself there!
Had to post a killer-hott photo for you guys. I promised love for everyone <3
(I'd maim and kill for a color fade in my hair like this)

The Only Candy to Love

Don't Believe Me?
Imagine this halfnhalf combo or fully blended concoction batting its eyes at you.

This would save you tons of time on youtube with leopard print tutorials. They also come in plain colors & exotic.

THE BEST eyeliner I've used so far. And baby, I've tried it all! It also comes in a rainbow of colors.

I swear I glide this on at least every 5 minutes. And you won't forget to re-apply; Its super addictive and tingles!

Backstage @ Betsey Johnson

Courtesy of Nylon Magazine photo archives... a little sneak peak (well I'm a little late as usual) but nonetheless totally worth taking a look.
Sometimes, Betsey Johnson has a little too much going on for my taste, but her work with floral and animal prints combined with amazingly bright and happy colors just makes my day!

To Mr. Chow: Thanks for Everything! Love, Me

Another fun-filled update from UrbanDaddy...

Mr. Chow, known for their combination of Bejing and Original recipes to the rich and famous in London, New York, Miami, Cali, and coming soon to Las Vegas, will be celebrating 30 years of business by bringing a gratis bottle of rose champagne to each table for the next six weeks!

Bring on the Bubbly!

Clothes Make Me Hott

...and so do these pictures of Dree Hemingway.
I can't decide whether to get dressed or undress.
I want to go shopping NOW!

These Dreams...

There are days when I wake up feeling like I haven't even begun to live...
That there is a silver lining but right now its a dull gray.
Well not today, my friends. Cause this little working girl finally got herself a J-O-B!
I can't help but to lay awake and daydream about all the opportunity I'll have now since I have a car and a job. (Yes, I know... Ms. ZsuZsu is quite the sadsack of shit) But now its time to hit the hay.
Nitey Nite my fellow fashion fanatics!
Picture me with a hardhat and blackberry in about two weeks.

Here's Hoping

Thank you Jessica. My sweet hippie friend...

Purple People Eater

Throwing some Gaga your way!

Have a great weekend!

Pony Party

There is something to be said about coloring your hair.
You always hope to make a statement, but your job might require a low-key look.
Nice to know that these highlights are so light... you could disguise them in a bun on top of your head!
I used to ask my cousin Heather if she and I could play with her "My Little Pony" ponies all the time. She had every color and tattooed butt pony you could ever want.
I miss being young and frivilous.
